Using your camcorder depletes its battery, and limited supplies are scattered around. Both features are intuitive, but come at a cost. Using night vision is terrifying with its loss of definition and shades of green, and the microphone is effective in helping you gauge when it’s safe to leave a hiding spot. The only tool at your disposal is your camcorder, which helps you see in the dark with its night vision and notifies you of enemy whereabouts with its microphone’s audio levels. Each area provides plenty of ways to escape, but I often had to run around in circles to lose an enemy, which became more tedious than scary. You may hide under a bed, in a closet, in a barrel, or underwater. Running only works for so long since your stamina lowers quickly and you have to break the line of sight when chased. You’re weaponless and vulnerable, meaning when enemies spot you, your survival hinges on how fast you run and hide. It’s a distracting and tiring problem, especially when asked to fetch items or flip switches to get an elevator or entryway working. Early on, I became dizzied and lost while escaping enemies in a maze-like cornfield. Although the large areas are diverse, they can be disorienting. Arizona’s countryside provides variety in its environments, from traversing a lake by raft to entering the depths of a mine. This narrative is completely separate to the first Outlast, offering a new storyline in the same universe, so newcomers don’t need to worry about being left in the dark.ĭuring the majority of the game, you evade two different factions of a religious cult that want you dead. Upon arriving, however, the two are separated when Blake’s wife is captured by a group of radical cultists. Outlast 2 stars investigative journalist Blake Langermann, who seeks the truth behind the murder of a Jane Doe in rural Arizona alongside his wife. The environments and psychological scares in Outlast 2 are bigger than its predecessor’s, but the storytelling suffers by relying too heavily on shock value. Players still sneak around in first-person, solve light puzzles, and avoid enemies at all costs. This sequel leaves behind the claustrophobic asylum of the first game for greater ambitions. Horror lurks in every corner in Outlast 2, making it tense and exhilarating. Immediately, an overwhelming sensation comes over me: I know I’m not alone. A girl’s melancholic voice sings a children’s song in the distance. The walls bleed a deep red and pulsate like bulging veins. For more on Outlast 2, check out our guides section. While walking down a school corridor, lockers open and close of their own accord, like shutters in a strong wind. That answers the question: Is Outlast 2 multiplayer? As one of the best horror franchises around, we’re thrilled that it’s taken on new life lately and are hopeful the next entry in the series will be the best yet. There are currently no plans to go back and add multiplayer to the previous games, so fans of Outlast will have to wait until the next title, where Red Barrels will hopefully pull the trigger there. Unfortunately for them, they’ll have to deal with the horrors of this world alone, though you can still trade the controller back and forth if one of you needs a break from the consistent scares. The popularity of The Outlast Trials has caused fans to go back through the series’ history to see where it all began. As we advance with the franchise, the direction should definitely be a co-op approach, as the cohesiveness that The Outlast Trials provides is engaging and fun in a way that’s opened up the franchise to more players than ever.

Surgery may be done for vascular or major nerve difficulties, but it’s used for only a few people. Treatment of nerve compression is usually conservative. Treatment aims to fix abnormalities in posture that may contribute to compression and to develop an exercise program to strengthen shoulder muscles. In venography, dye is injected into the vein. In arteriography, dye is injected into the artery. Scans may include chest computed tomography (CT), mainly to rule out other disorders. The health care provider makes a diagnosis with the medical history, physical examination, blood tests, X-rays, and special imaging scans. How Is Thoracic Outlet Syndrome Diagnosed? Vein compression causes swelling and pain of the arm. Artery compression causes a pale skin color, coolness, and numbness of the arm. The artery or vein is rarely affected alone. Pain gets worse with use of the arm, and the arm often gets tired. Fingers can get numb and tingle, and the grip can get weak. Hand pain is often worst in the fourth and fifth fingers. Symptoms include pain in the shoulder, arm, or hand, or in all three. What Are the Symptoms of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome? The syndrome isn’t passed from parents to children and isn’t contagious. Shoulder and collarbone problems from injuries, trauma, or carrying heavy backpacks for long periods can cause it. What Causes Thoracic Outlet Syndrome?Ĭauses include an abnormal muscle position, an abnormal congenital rib in the neck, blood clots, and abnormalities of the first rib. The syndrome is more common in women 20 to 50 years old. The nerve is affected most, 95% of the time. The artery takes blood away from the heart. Symptoms depend on whether the nerves, artery, or vein is compressed. The brachial plexus is the space between the collarbone and first rib, where nerves and blood vessels pass into the arms from the neck. Thoracic outlet syndrome consists of symptoms caused when nerves or blood vessels in the brachial plexus are compressed (squeezed). Both apps have also tapped record labels and publications to help curate better indie playlists. They have current hits, local and world song charts, and various music categories to explore. Apple Music’s Music Library Is More Thoughtful and Inclusiveīoth platforms have excellent mainstream and indie libraries that would make any music fan happy. This allows more than enough time to get a sense of whether their Premium plan is worth it or not. While Apple Music has no free tier, users can take advantage of the three-month free trial. If you have children, have budget constraints, or want to get the best value for your buck, Spotify is the preferable choice. On-demand playback is somewhat restricted, though, so you can only listen to some playlists in shuffle mode. With this, you can listen to everything in Spotify’s content library at the expense of having to listen to ads from time to time. Unlike Apple Music, Spotify also comes with a free, ad-supported plan. Not to mention the availability of additional services like Spotify Kids on the Family plan and Hulu and SHOWTIME on the Premium Student plan, which, in my opinion, gives Spotify a leg-up over Apple Music. However, you’ll benefit from more plan options with Spotify Premium Mini, which is a 7-day plan for one device in select countries, and Premium Duo. Plus, the absence of address-sharing requirements for Family plans is super convenient. Sure, Apple Music’s Voice Plan stands out as a cost-efficient option for those entrenched in the Apple ecosystem. While Spotify and Apple Music share similar plan rates, Spotify sets itself apart in this category with a range of additional offerings. In this version, we can only have one job defined at a time. This will be the “job,” which just means the specific backup you want to make. You can call it anything you like, or just keep the default name. Into the box, enter the name you wish to use for your backup. Press C to start the backup process, as the option on the bottom shows (configure). Now the program is ready to do some work. Press and release TAB until the cursor is on FINISH, then press Enter. Then it will ask you for the license file, if you have a paid edition. Press and release TAB until the cursor is on the NEXT button, as shown: For now, let’s skip that part and move on. I’ve never needed this, but it is possible you will need that to make the recovery work if you have somewhat uncommon hardware. The next page will ask if you want to add drivers to the recovery media. When you move to a new page, notice the > symbol in the left panel moving down to indicate where you are in the list. You can use just like any wizard in Windows to go to the previous page. Press ENTER to activate the buttons at the bottom. Press and release TAB until the cursor is on the NEXT button at the bottom. TAB will always move the cursor to the next field, and when it gets to the last one and you press TAB again, it will start at the beginning again. After the first box is marked, use the TAB key to move to the next one and hit the space again. It should already be on the first box it wants you to select. To place an X in the place where they want you to check, move the selection cursor to the place you want to mark and hit the space bar. The first thing you will see will be the license acceptance agreement. For now, let us just do it with the command above! It is possible to set it up to run directly from your main or start menu with not much fuss, but that’s also another topic. It might take a little while for it to show in Synaptic or other graphical programs, and if it does, you can type these lines (hit enter after each one) from the terminal to get it sooner:Īnd press enter. Refresh the package list, then look for ‘veeam’, and install that. That will install the Veeam repo into your software/package manager. deb file is an installer for Debian-based distros (like Ubuntu). The only one I have tried is the one for Ubuntu (which is also the one for Mint, Neon, Zorin, and the other Ubuntu derivatives). Once you log in, you should be able to download a version for your Linux distro. You will have to create a Veeam account or log in with a social media account, unfortunately, but you can use a throwaway one if you like. Go to the Veeam site, and select to download Veeam Agent for Linux free. Installing Veeam is another topic, but let me run through it really quick anyway. Not to worry this is not going to be as bad as you might think. The only thing is that you have to use the keyboard, not the mouse. It’s a wizard-style menu, which most everyone will be familiar with. It uses the character-based display of the terminal, but that does not mean you will have to be typing in commands or struggling to remember how to do so. Veeam agent does not have a GUI, or graphical user interface. Linux sysadmins will likely use scripts to automate this stuff, but we regular folks can just use the program’s quasi-graphical interface. Veeam is a powerful program with many options, but you don’t have to concern yourself with that. They are free to come see my PC during my normal business hours, and since I don’t have a business, there are no business hours. I’m not worried about it, but be aware that it is there. Be aware that the EULA is intended for business customers, and says that Veeam can send someone to inspect your PC for license verification purposes “within normal business hours.” Apparently, these types of audits and the EULA code that enables them are boilerplate when it comes to enterprise software, but for home users who don’t have a license (the unlicensed version is the free version), there would be nothing to inspect. It is free for the basic edition, though you do have to register with your email to get the link. Veeam Agent for Linux is currently the only backup program of which I am aware that can write full image-style backups from within Linux, while you work. |
